Constructed in 1927, our building is in desperate need of new stucco, paint, windows, and seismic retrofits.

Flooring, lighting, wall treatments and display cases are a few areas that need to be addressed in our space.

We are hoping to update our historic site’s internet capabilities, security system, irrigation system and more.

Our History

Old Fire Station No.19 is a historic site reflecting the segregation and discrimination experienced by African American firefighters in San Diego.

Our foundation aims to preserve the history of African American firefighters in our city, educate the public and serve our community.
